My name is Amadeo Amato, but you… you will only call me Father.

You have been brought before me, before God, because of your sins – sins that you will now atone for.

You may fool the people around you into thinking you’re a sweet, innocent young woman, but I see right through you.

I see you for the harlot you are, little sinner. And now, it’s time to pay for all of it.

Your beauty. Your body. Your filthy, despicable mind.

I will do everything it takes to break you.

The sins you carry are heavy and so shall the punishment be.

It’s time to confess, Carlotta Moretti.

And Father does not forgive.

Confess is a full-length novel with a dirty priest straight out of your fantasies… or nightmares.

This is a captive dark mafia romance.

Love You Now by Monica Robinson

This is the second book from the love hurts duet. Both myself and angela have been lucky enough to get both books as ARCs, so you will see two reviews for this book.

So the end of Hated You Then, Jackson had royally fucked up with Harley, to the point she really did hate him now. With this story it does flip from present to past but i think that gives this story more. You find out how they get to where they are now. The struggles they both go through.

Jackson, not wanting to love anyone as he is convinced if he did then he would forget them just like his mum did when she started losing her battle with dementia. The fact she forgot him first made it all the more painful for him to think that one day he might put his own loved ones through that. So instead he chooses not to love anyone, as he thinks that’s easier to do.

Harley, she has secrets. Secrets she doesn’t want her family knowing the truth about, but Jackson steps up even when he didn’t have to, which begins her spiral of not knowing what to tell everyone so instead of trying to fake it around them, she distances herself from everyone she loves. But it breaks her, having to keep up these lies to the world.

Their love story is different to most. They were born hating each other. But they found a way to love each other as well. Don’t get me wrong it was hard seeing them go through their struggles, but seeing them at the end with their happy ending made me cry happy tears. Be warned though, there is one big scene that I cried and when I say I cried I mean like huge ugly tears. It was a scene I wasn’t expecting. It made my heart hurt, but it definitely needed to happen for them to get their happy ever after.

On a side note. I swear to GOD if Cash doesn’t redeem himself in his book i am going to find a way to get my hands on him and throttle him. Arse.

you know what i am going to say next

Sacrifice by N. Isabelle Blanco

I know you’ve heard me say before that I’m not into PNR , but this Sinister Fairy Tales Collection is blowing me away . It’s so damn good .

We’ve all heard the myth & legend of Hēraklês ( Hercules) , Megara, & Hades . We’ve heard what the Greeks & the Romans said about them . We’ve even heard what Disney said about them , but that is nothing compared to what N Isabelle Blanco is saying about them .

This 2.0 version of them has knocked it out of the park .

Megara is deeply in love with Hēraklês, she will do anything for him , including helping him to become a full God . Hēraklês promises Megara that he will take her with him when he enters Olympus…. but he doesn’t .

Hēraklês is plagued by guilt for thousands of years for turning his back on Megara. He believes her dead for all of this time . He doesn’t know that when he turned his back on her it would not only break her heart , but would cause her suffering & pain every day for thousands of years .

He also doesn’t know what Hades had to turn her into just to save her .

The fates a-line & their paths must cross again , because their story, which they know nothing about, is ready to move forward.

This is such an amazing read ♥️

Releasing as part of the 2019 Sinister Fairy Tales Collection and part of the Dark Paranormal Ryze Series, but can be read as a Standalone!

We all know the story.

How it ended.

He survived and conquered each task.

Became the hero of all heroes.

And in the end he became a legend.

What no one told you is that I was there. I was helping him . . . and when he ascended, I was left behind to rot.

Herakles never knew I sold my soul for his success—he didn’t need to. Had I been enough on my own, he would’ve chosen to stay.

Instead, he rose to full glory.

I was dragged straight to Hades.

Eventually, mutated.

I lost track of him for nearly three millennia, but I’ve found him.

I will kill him.

He chose to become a god; I was forced to become a nightmare.

Now it’s time for us to meet again.

I abandoned my family mere moments before the Greek pantheon fell.

‘Till this day the whispers accuse me.

Had I been there, perhaps they could’ve been saved.

But I no longer gave a fuck.

Funny how vanity can blind a male to what really matters.

It took less than a year on Olympus before I began searching for her again.

I never found her.

Now, two-in-a-half-thousand years later, here I am.

An immortal ghost, simply getting by.

I should’ve never left her.

The only thing I had was hoping the last of her mortal days, wherever she ended up, were happy . . .

Joke’s on me.

A darkened, twisted version of my female returns, demanding my head for every one of my sins.

And she shall have it.

But first, I’m saving her from her curse.

I’ll sacrifice every ounce of my sanity left to free her . . . right before I let her end me once and for all.

Obey Fate by Abigail Davies

Another duet done by Abigail Davies. Don’t take that as i am fed up with reading them, quite the opposite. I AM OBSESSED with these duets. I thought the fallen duet was amazing but this one, this one has knocked it out of the park across the road up the hill and back down again. Yep. Its that amazing.

So we pick up right where we left off at the end of Defy Fate. Cade and Aria caught in a situation that isn’t go to end well for either of them. Well that is until Aria lies and tells willow it was all her doing and Cade was not to blame. But in doing this it sends Aria in to her downwards spiral of not knowing what she should be doing, and cutting is her only outlet. She hides it from so many people that she doesn’t even know what to tell people anymore. Worried she is going down the same route as her father did but never knowing how to get out of it.

Cade has to keep his distance from Aria now. It pains him to do so though, she is still close with his family, she is still around everywhere yet she is holding up and keeping away from him, so he doesn’t actually know how much she is really struggling with everything.

Aria finally breaks down and Cade is right there to help her. He helps her get the right help and eventually Aria finds the strength to tell her family exactly what has been going on, but the twist comes and boy its a twist alright, it had my heart racing hoping and praying that Cade could rescue her again.

The great thing about this duet is that not only does it go through the teacher/student taboo relationship but also the age gap one too. As well as mental health and how it comes across from watching a loved one go through their demons and from the point of view of the person going through it themselves. Abigail really makes you feel as helpless as Cade does when he is watching Aria suffer and not really knowing what he should do, and you really feel everything Aria is going through too. With all these different tough subjects going on you might think it would skip some important things or brush over it but it doesn’t. You get the focus on all these.

Although some people will see that its a taboo teacher/student thing you have to remember that although it started in the school Aria and Cade have history with each other, they grew up a little around each other, and its not easily forgotten just because they are now a teacher and a student.

Not sure how many people caught the little teasers about the next couple but they are there. I only caught them because I had insider info from Abigail. NO I WONT TELL YOU WHAT IT IS! so don’t ask.

So basically you have to read this duet because its amazing.

Anyway that’s probably enough from me

Until next time

Syren’s Christmas Tale by Jennah Thornhill

IT’S NEARLY CHRISTMAS! So it’s a well known fact how much I love Christmas, I also LOVE the Syren series by Jennah so having a Christmas novella from the Syren men I jumped at the chance to read it because well who wouldn’t. So if you haven’t read ANY of the Syren series then I would suggest not reading this review as they will be potential spoilers in here. But if you have then read on. Just so you know I totally listening to Christmas music while writing this.

So we pick up with the boys a few years after the end of Syrens pride and that ending that nearly killed me. I don’t think I have ever been as shocked as i was at the end of that book, I cried HARD. Anyway one day i might get over it but today is not the day. So the boys were finally back in the studios after losing Max *sad face* when tragedy strikes the group again. Again it shocked me completely as I was just expecting a lovey dovey Christmas with a bit of Rockstar partying in there too. BUT nooooooo jennah doesn’t know how to do that. Allie and Connor feel the best way for them to finally start moving on with what happened that they all do Christmas together at their cabin. Having all of them together in one place makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside because you know when they are together they can help each other through the darkest times.

The banter between all of them is like when you see friends that you haven’t seen in a while and when you eventually get together its like you haven’t been separated for as long as you were. You fall back in to your old habits, I loved how although they have suffered two big losses in the few years they still know how to give each other shit. I love how the men try and do all the Christmassy things like baking with the kids, as well as having drinks with each other and their wives. The best bit about them is they only ever want to see their friends happy, rather than holding on to the past.

I never feel like I have had enough of the Syren men. Yes I am fully away that there will be 6 books out at the end of this year but why stop there? why not give us 10 books from them??? Jennah i know you are reading this ( I hope) come on! give us more of the Syren men!!! i got to know if they ever get their come back tour?? i want to see their kids growing up, I want more god damn it! PLEASE!!

Anyway that’s enough from me

Until next time

Wrath by Ava Manello

It has never taken me this long to write a review for a book before, but never before have a read a book been written from one authors ideas and written by another author. That is the case with this book, Lavinia urban had the idea for the Seven deadly sins series but her life was tragically cut short after she lost her fight with cancer before she had the chance to write it, so 7 authors took it upon themselves to finish her series and leave a long lasting legacy in her name.

So I was lucky enough to read Wrath that was written by Ava Manello, we meet Wrath a club enforcer that doesn’t care for the world, he just does he job and goes on to the next job. Never feeling, never bothering why someone had paid his club for the hit to be done. Just doing as he was told.

Until he gets a phone call from someone in his past, someone from before Wrath, it begins to change his whole outlook on live and how short it could be, been so helpless in not been able to help other than be there when they needed him. He does what most people do in that situation, and he shuts down he doesn’t want to believe it.

Reading this book brought back memories of my own struggle with watching someone I love go through the horrendous fight with cancer only for their lives to be cut short. All the feelings were there, the pain, the helplessness, the overwhelming need to be angry at anything and everything. It’s all in this book, even if it is a short story.

I cried, a lot. It was almost therapeutic been able to feel those emotions.

All the proceeds will go to Lavinia’s husband and her children.

Until next time

Once Upon A Wish-mas by Laura Barnard

So this was my first Christmas book of the year and it definitely didn’t disappoint. I love Christmas, it is my favourite time of year so to have a book based around Christmas is just amazing.

We meet Ruby. A nanny applying for a job to get her over the Christmas time so she isn’t sat in a hotel waiting for her other job to start in the new year. After speaking to one of the staff members she gets the impression that Mr Rochester isn’t going to be the easiest person to work for. He has gone through so many other nannies since his wife died. She meets the two little girls that she will be looking after and immediately knows she will love working with them.

Mr Rochester works long hours and doesn’t spend much time with his girls since they lost their mum, his wife. He works hard to keep a roof over their heads as well as keeping busy so he doesn’t have to remember that he is now all alone. He hires nanny after nanny for the girls as he wants the best for them. But the nannies don’t like working for someone who is so demanding and refusing to change one little thing. That is until Ruby starts working for him. She isn’t afraid to say the truth to him even though he has scared so many others away.

Ruby breaks the girls strict routine with getting them to enjoy their life again and as a result she finds herself at loggerheads with Barcley more than once. Never once backing down she makes him start to see sense that the life that him and his girls are living isn’t good for any of them. The chemistry builds between Ruby and Barcley with them sharing a few kisses without it going further, even though both of them do want to. Neither of them want to cross that line just yet. Barcley finds it hard to move on from Claire but feels that he could with Ruby. She loves the girls as much as she can and only wants the best for them. You can see how much she really loves them when she is wanting to do all the little things for them that Barcley just wont do.

As the book goes on the chemistry between Ruby and Barcley gets hotter but then when something happens Barcley makes Ruby feel like he has used her and doesn’t really care for her, which makes her decide to take the job in France, as much as it will hurt her to leave the girls she cant stay somewhere she isn’t made to feel good.

*sigh* I love Barcley, the grouchy man who throws tantrums when things aren’t going his way. you can see the love he has for his girls but he doesn’t know how to show them since their mum died. She was the light in his life and he feels he has nothing much other than the girls to live for. Ruby comes along and literally turns his life upside down, showing him he can find love after a loss and it isn’t betraying Claire in any way.

I also love Mrs Dumfy. She is brilliant as a little side character but she also tells Barcley the truth when he needs it.

Ruby. She is awesome. I love how she stands up to Barcley at every possible moment. But she also knows when to back down too. The love she has for the girls right from the beginning is great. As any parent knows its hard to allow just anyone around your child but for her to take on the girls and give them the love they need is amazing to read.

All in all i loved this Christmas story! Its also got me more excited for Christmas too!

Anyway until next time
